Oh, The Places We’ll Go [Part Deux]

18 Apr

I’m a little sad this morning, because my cutey Jackson is going to daycare 3 days a week, starting today. But on the bright side, that means I’ll have plenty of time to bond with my darling Harris and to catch up on this blog a little more often.

That being said, I believe I owe you a second installment of this weekend’s latest endeavor, “Oh, The Places We’ll Go.”

This post will be dedicated to:

Bellingham, WA!!

Don’t get worried- Bellingham may not be as well known as San Diego, but it definitely has some perks. Here are the lists:

Pros:

  • Bellingham has more drive-thru espresso stands per capita than any other county in the country. (Helll yeah!)
  • Bellingham is the county seat and largest city in Washington’s Whatcom county.
  • In 2005, Bellingham was named one of the top retirement cities in the US. (Is this a pro or a con?)
  • The EPA rated Bellingham #1 for cleanest air in a metropolitan area.
  • Bellingham lies 90 miles north of Seattle and 50 miles south of Vancouver.

Cons:

  • Bellingham’s rainy season can last up to 8 mo, although it is generally only 6 mo. (Only?!)

Sorry guys, I literally could find NO other cons about Bellingham.

Fun Facts:

  • The Seattle Public Library system has the highest number of library card-holders per capita in the US.
  • Seattle was the 1st city in the US to play a Beatles song on the radio.
  • WA has the highest per capita share of technology-dependent jobs among all the states in the country.

I think Washington is beautiful and Seattle and Vancouver are on my places to go list so they must be cool.

I also heard a rumor that is doesn’t rain as much as they say it does in Washington, they’re just trying to keep more people from moving there. πŸ˜‰
